1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. They let websites remember things between visits - like which page you came from, whether you're logged in (we don't use logins, but they're a common example), or whether you've already seen a particular ad.

This policy uses "cookies" loosely to also cover similar technologies like local storage, session storage, and pixel tags.

2. Cookies we use

BetFTW groups its cookies into three categories:

  • Essential - required for the site to function (e.g. our session cookie used to remember the active stake filter on a sport page). These can't be disabled without breaking the site.
  • Analytics - set by Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager. They help us understand which pages are popular and which are broken. Anonymous and aggregated. Disabling these doesn't affect what you can see.
  • Advertising - set by Google AdSense. Used to show ads (which fund the site) and to measure ad performance. May include interest-based ads if you've consented to them via Google's controls.

3. Third-party cookies

The analytics and advertising cookies above are set by Google services, not directly by BetFTW. The same goes for performance-monitoring cookies set by New Relic Browser. Each provider has its own privacy and cookie policies:

If you click an outbound link to a bookmaker, news outlet, or social network, that destination may set its own cookies. Their policies - not ours - apply once you leave BetFTW.

4. Controlling cookies

You can manage cookies several ways:

  • Browser settings - most browsers let you block all cookies, block third-party cookies, or clear them on exit. Look in your browser's preferences for "Privacy" or "Cookies".
  • Google ad personalisation - turn off interest-based ads at adssettings.google.com.
  • Google Analytics opt-out - install the official browser add-on to stop GA from running on any site.
  • Do Not Track / GPC - we honour the Global Privacy Control signal where applicable.

Blocking analytics or advertising cookies won't break the site - only the analytics signals we receive and the ads you see.
