Privacy policy

1. Who we are

BetFTW (the "Service") is an independent sports-prediction website. We are the data controller for the limited information described in this policy. To exercise any of the rights below, contact us at office[at]betftw.com.

2. What we collect

You can browse BetFTW without giving us anything. The data we passively collect is:

  • Standard server logs - IP address, user-agent, requested URL, referrer, and timestamp. Used for security, debugging, and abuse prevention.
  • Analytics - aggregated, pseudonymous usage data (pages viewed, device type, country) via Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics.
  • Performance monitoring - page load times and error reports via New Relic Browser, used purely to keep the site fast and bug-free.
  • Advertising signals - Google AdSense cookies that may be used to show contextual or interest-based ads. See cookie policy for details and opt-out instructions.

We do not collect names, email addresses, payment details, or precise location data. We do not run user accounts.

3. How we use it

The collected data is used to:

  • Operate, secure, and improve the website.
  • Understand which content is useful (for example, which sports get the most traffic).
  • Show advertising that helps fund the site.
  • Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

We never sell personal data, and we never email you marketing - because we don't have your email.

4. Third-party services

BetFTW relies on the following third-party processors. Each has its own privacy policy linked below; data we share with them is limited to what's described above.

  • Google - Tag Manager, Analytics, AdSense, and Fonts CDN.
  • New Relic - browser performance monitoring.

Embedded third-party content (e.g. links to a bookmaker or an external article) may set its own cookies once you click through. Those services' policies apply to that interaction, not ours.

5. Your rights

Under GDPR (EU/UK), CCPA (California), and similar laws, you have the right to:

  • Ask what data we hold about you.
  • Request correction or deletion of that data.
  • Object to processing or request restriction.
  • Receive your data in a portable format.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email office[at]betftw.com. We respond within 30 days. Note that because we don't collect identifying information, we may not be able to locate data tied to you specifically beyond a server log entry, which is purged on the schedule below.

6. Data retention

Server logs are kept for 30 days, then purged. Analytics data is retained for 14 months by default in Google Analytics, then automatically deleted. Aggregated, anonymous usage statistics may be kept indefinitely for trend analysis - these are not linked to any individual visitor.
