Decimal, fractional and American odds are three ways of writing the same price. Decimal odds show the total return for each unit staked, stake included. In the 12 months to 30 October 2026, settled BetFTW picks had average best recorded odds of 2.86 in football, 2.96 in basketball, 3.15 in tennis, 3.14 in ice hockey.

Decimal odds

Decimal odds are the total return per unit staked. At 2.50, a stake of 10 returns 25: the 10 staked plus 15 profit. Profit is stake × (odds − 1). BetFTW shows decimal odds by default.

Fractional odds

Fractional odds show profit relative to stake. 3/2 means a profit of 3 for every 2 staked. To convert to decimal, divide and add 1: 3 ÷ 2 + 1 = 2.50. Odds-on prices have a smaller first number: 1/2 is 1.50 in decimal.

American odds

American odds are written from a stake or profit of 100. A positive number is the profit on a 100 stake: +150 is decimal 2.50. A negative number is the stake needed to win 100: −200 is decimal 1.50. From decimal odds of 2.00 or more, American = (decimal − 1) × 100; below 2.00, American = −100 ÷ (decimal − 1).
